About Me

Novels, screenplays, websites, brochures, notes to self—whatever you've written,
I want to help you make it shine!

Hi! It's nice to meet you.

As a trained freelance copy editor, with an honours bachelor of arts in journalism from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University), I specialize in copy editing fiction and non-fiction books and scripts/screenplays for independent authors. I especially enjoy editing historical and speculative fiction, but I will put just as much effort and care into an article, blog entry, or promotional material. Every piece of writing deserves the same attention to detail and accuracy.

I am also a member of Editors Canada, and filled the role of communications chair at the Toronto branch from 2014 to 2016. As the communications chair, I was the assistant editor for the Toronto branch’s blog, BoldFace. The seminars offered through Editors Canada have also enhanced my skills in such areas as plain language editing and editing for graphic novels.

What my clients say

Value-added research skills

I started my career path in television production, mainly working as a researcher and associate producer for a number of documentary series you may have seen on the HISTORY channel or Discovery channel. Thanks to these projects, I know how to find information. Whether it’s online research, conducting interviews, or digging through the stacks at the Toronto Reference Library, I am like a bloodhound when it comes to finding the answer.

I have researched everything from the history of cartoons, to heavy machinery, to the evolution of embalming. Most of my work as a researcher for documentary television has been focused on historical topics including World War II, the Korean War, famous natural disasters, and important historical figures.

I was honoured to be nominated for a Canadian Screen Award in 2021 for my work on the feature documentary, Cheating Hitler: Surviving the Holocaust.

If you need someone to find out whether a specific tank battalion was involved in a particular battle (and what type of tanks they had), or to make sure you’re accurately quoting Queen Victoria, I’m that someone!
